Here are highlights of our Cameron Village Neighborhood Association (CVNA) quarterly meeting held 7:00-9:00 PM Monday, November 9:

ANNUAL CVNA OFFICER ELECTIONS HELD

• 2009 officers were re-elected through 2010 by acclimation and will serve through December 31, 2010:
  • Will Allen, President
  • Jay Chaudhuri, V.P.
  • Kevin Bowden, Secretary/Treasure

EXPANSION OF WESTERN CVNA BOUNDARY

• We voted to expand our CVNA western boundary to Oberlin Road so that we now bump up against University Park as we should have done all along. The CVNA will now include the entirety of Cameron Village Shopping Center as well as the so-called Coker project and the east side of Oberlin Road between wade and Clark. (Our western boundary was established by original vote in April only to Daniels Street, which left the shopping center and other property between Daniels and Oberlin a no man’s land.)
• The northern boundary (Wade Avenue) was not changed, nor was the southern boundary (Clark/Peace) or the eastern boundary (St. Mary’s Street). See map for new western boundary areas.

CHRISTMAS TREE FUNDRAISER PROJECT

We are excited and hopeful that our first fundraiser, selling Christmas trees in partnership with Cameron Park Neighborhood Association, will be a success. We distributed 500 flyers to the core single family homes in the village plus many of the surrounding apartments and condominiums.

If you have not yet ordered a tree, please consider doing so. Profits from every tree sold helps to establish CVNA and qualifies for a match grant with the city.

If you’d like to volunteer to help with tree distribution on Saturday, November 28, please let me know ASAP. We need a few strong backs to load and unload trees and help deliver them to customers.
